A/N: I owe a huge debt of gratitude to time_converges for the idea that set this plotbunny biting. She was very generous in allowing me to run with it and see where my imagination took it. Well, this is where it ended up. And you will seriously need tissues for this.
A/N 2: I strongly suspect that this entire story will have become redundant by midnight GMT on January 1, 2009, so hopefully you can enjoy it for what it was – a possible, fannish solution to the monumental cliffhanger posed at the end of The End of Time Part I, albeit one that has nothing to do with Time Lords, the Time War, Gallifrey, or anything else except for the bond between Donna, Wilf and the Doctor.
