The road less travelled...

Rob Guest passed away overnight from a massive stroke.

I freely admit that I wasn't his biggest fan. I preferred Anthony Warlow in PotO and I thought his voice was too weak to play Valjean in Les Mis. I thought he sold out when he turned to television (particularly since Man O Man was such crap).

And then I saw Wicked.

Okay, maybe there were a few notes he couldn't hit, but his passion for the show and the character was undeniable. And he did the impossible - made me reverse my previous feelings about him and begin to like the man.

I'm therefore deeply saddened at the news of his passing. My thoughts are with his family and all the cast of Wicked, as well as everyone else who has been touched by him.
