Work and things.

Excuse me, attention please. I have an announcement to make.

I HAVE A JOB!!!!

I got the call this morning. It's a part-time position at Boroondara City Council (Camberwell and surrounds, for anyone who knows Melbourne) and I will be working in the Building department. It's very similar to the work I was doing at Melbourne, but substantially better pay and far more humane hours, in that I only begin at 9am, not 8am.

Hoorah! And just curious, are you ordering anything from GGBP? I'm baffled by the process, I get you print out the form and send it to the lady, do I do the MO in Aus or UK? Do I have to contact her first or just send it right off?

Hmm, well in regard to GGB, I print off the form, fill it out and then write up a cheque (the form will tell you who to make the cheque out to). I then post off the form and cheque to Susan Dunnachie here in Australia. I don't usually let her know it's coming unless I want a book that has been out for a while, and that is generally to ensure there is a spare copy. I always get the books I ordered, so I must do something right!

Hee, that's good then, I don't have a cheque book so it'll have to be money order then. I want Challenge which is meant to be coming out Jan. So you do your cheque in the price they give you? It's AUS 38 on the GGBP site.

Do you mean today (i.e. the 29th)? I am at Southland this morning, but feel free to call me (0412) 737 144 to set something up. I'm afraid my stupid phone deleted a whole lot of numbers when I changed the sim card to a new handset and yours was among them.

I start work on Wednesday next week, but am free Monday and Tuesday.

Thanks! Unfortunately I won't be working Mondays at all. For the next two weeks I'm Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. After that I will be Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

I could come in and see you on the 8th though! Where will you be working?

DOn't make a special trip in KB - I'm @ Camberwell Library every 3 or so weeks - it surely won't be long before it's a Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday.

Well, yes but I figure the odds should be in my favour - you'll be working 3 of the 4 days the library is open... having said that I will, of course, set a record for the most number of mondays ever worked at CL. Still I get to CL offices every so often...

(Ponders) am already thinking of reasons to visit more often...
