The hospital released Dad yesterday and I drove him home. He was draped over the back seat and every third comment was how peculiar it was that he was sitting there like that while I drove. I don't think he'd ever seen the back seat before!

So we're home now. We bought a wonderful huge recliner for Mum when she got sick (she used to almost get lost in it!) and while he was in hospital, he said 'We will move it around so that it faces the TV and I can spend my days there.' Um, we? That would be me and the dog, I suppose. So when we got home yesterday to a stinking hot house during a stinking hot day 'we' moved the chair. That involved moving the table. Then 'we' (let's continue his little fantasy) unpacked a chock-a-block car and put everything away before 'we' collapsed in a sweaty heap in front of the TV. *lol*

He has also discovered the perils of his situation, as he threw one of the dog's squeaky toys at my yesterday as I was getting up and then asked me to get him a drink. I will say that he did eventually get his beer, but it took a bit of grovelling...

Glad you're home and your dad is recovering well - and serves him right having to wait for his beer after chucking toys at you! ;o)

When my dad was in a similar situation we found he was quite easy to train into good habits - very much like a dog or small child!!

Hope you don't get run to a frazzle

Yeah, I insisted that my mother get Doctor's orders for vitamin B12 shots... because she was driving ME nuts with her constant demands. The first couple of days she was home I'd be a wreck by the time the Physical Therapists got there.
It finally dawned on me that in all my rushing around to get her cleaned up, fed and dressed and the house cleaned up before the Physical Therapists got there, that I was neglecting to feed myself! I guess the Dog was pretty lucky to get fed too. LOL
Anyway, I hope you remember to take some time for you. Insist your Dad take a nap or ask the neighbors to come sit with him for a little bit and escape to do something for you. Sometimes you just need to get AWAY for a few minutes to think, if you know what I mean!? Take time out for KB!

Thanks, and I promise to do so. Fortunately, I can get out of the house for short periods to go shopping and whatnot, which does help a lot. *hugs*

Am glad he's safely home and hope he recovers well - make sure you get plenty of breaks for himself - and throw things back at him if necessary ;)
