Gacked from [livejournal.com profile] reblog:

Why not take this opportunity to tell me a little something about yourself? Any old thing at all. Just so the next time I see your name I can say: "Ah, there's so and so... she likes office supplies."

I'd love it if every single person who friended me would do this. Yes, even you people who I know really well. Then post this in your own journal.

I hate ketchup :-)

oh. And I like going out in the early morning to buy random things. Like biscuits :-)

Do you then come home and eat the biscuits?

I believe that anything can be put in a sandwich, and the magic properties of bread will make it taste good. Nine times out of ten I'm right.

All right, I'll bite (although not literally) - what's the weirdest combination you've come up with?

I'm allergic to bananas and liquorice.

And it's currently 5.19am, and I've been in the office for more than eight hours. Which I just had to count up on my fingers, which is how caffeine-addled I am.

Liquorice I've heard of, but never a banana allergy. Live and learn, clearly!

And why in God's name are you still at work? Go home!!!

I like office supplies. No, actually, I really DO like office supplies. Particularly pens/paper. I think it comes from writing, but there's nothing like buying a new pad of paper and a new pen and starting something fun.

*lol* Excellent, I'll remember that! (And I do agree with you, btw!)

My favourite plant is lavender. And I am also rather partial to office supplies. And old fashioned hardware shops which sell things you didn't know you needed.

Ooh, do you like the smell or the colour of lavender better? And shops like that are gorgeous!

I don't drink tea or coffee

Do you drink anything hot? My uncle only drinks hot water, so nothing will sound strange to me. ;-)

I'm moving in two weeks, I only heard yesterday, and therefore my room is a tip - how on earth I'm going to do this in two weeks I don't know!!!

Two weeks? *shriek* Boxes, buy boxes!!! Oh, and packing tape!!!

I cycle about 6½ miles to work every day. Except when I'm feeling lazy like today and take the bus.

*lol* Now laziness is definitely something I can understand! *g*

Good luck with it! I know numerous other sf geeks, so you're in good company!

I eat toast upside down.

And I absolutely hate and refuse to eat lasagne, donuts and jellybeans. So there :D

posted by [identity profile] katherine-b.livejournal.com at 09:07pm on 11/07/2005
*lol* What do you put on the toast? Presumably not lumps of what the jam makers are calling 'spreadable fruit', as that would fall off!

And I've never met anyone who doesn't like donuts...

Many of the places I wrote about in the VS are real.

Total Eclipse: Corry, PA is real.

Insurrection: Olean, NY is real.

Crossroads: The Comfort Inn in Bradford, PA; the crossroads of Rt. 219 and Rt. 6; the town of Kane, PA; the Kane Motel; and Evergreen Park (in Kane) are all real.

Oh, and my favorite food in the world is still meatballs & dumplings with brown gravy the way my mother makes it.

I think I came across one of those on a map when I was looking for another location and guessed they must be real. Have you visited them?

And meatballs and dumplings with gravy sound gorgeous...

I absolutely love the colour yellow. I also can both, read and write Ogham, but do not speak a word of Irish, so that's just about the most useless skill ever. ;)

Ooh, I like camping, too! Did lots of it as a Guide. We don't have summer camps in Australia like they do in America though.

I detest whipped cream on my coffee/hot chocolate/anything from Starbucks and other such places. I also happen to eat Cool-Whip straight from the tub.

I've also discovered that, when done properly, cream cheese and Cool-Whip are a tasty combination on top of strawberry Jell-o.

I prefer the low-cal "lite" fraps from Starbucks than the normal ones. It feels a bit less like swallowing sludge (Tasty sludge, but sludge nonetheless!).

Look! We have the same icon! ;)

posted by [identity profile] katherine-b.livejournal.com at 12:37pm on 12/07/2005
*lol* Fancy us having the same icon! Can't imagine why! ;-)

And I can't deal with cream at all! Far too fatty for me. But I can see how cream and cream cheese would go together...

*tries to think of something you don't know about me*

Well, you know, apart from those deep dark secrets I've been keeping from you for the entirety of our... 13?... year friendship!

Umm, this is really difficult.

I've found a couple of really good second-hand bookstores in Sydney, and also a terrific cross-stitch store within half a block of my office. How's that? *g*

posted by [identity profile] katherine-b.livejournal.com at 12:38pm on 12/07/2005
God, has it really been that long?! Well, yes, 1992 to 2005, I suppose it has...

And I think those stores sound excellent, as it will give us something to do whenever I find time to visit Sydney. (Don't hold your breath, I have no idea when it will happen. *sad sigh*)
