Prologue
The only sound is the faint ‘drip, drip’ of tea soaking into the TARDIS
Words and images chase themselves across the Doctor’s mind as he stares at Donna, his empty cup dangling from limp fingers.
Nursery and baby and tiny hands and feet and faces and fluffy stuffed toys and…
And why, oh, why, is he grinning like an idiot?
Donna puts her cup down on the console and walks over to remove his tie, which he can now see is splashed with tea. She smiles as she resettles his collar and then leans in to his ear.
“Hello, ‘Daddy’.”
