Notes: Written for the fifth Weekly Drabble Challenge
"Oh, come on, Donna, why not?"
"Why would I need a permanent reminder of you when I'm going to travel with you forever anyway?"
"Who said anything about permanent?" The Doctor throws his hands in the air. "I never mentioned permanent!"
"It's a tattoo, Doctor." She gives him that patented 'you really are stupid, aren't you, Spaceman?' look. "They are permanent by their very nature."
"But that's what I was trying to tell you!" He rolls his eyes. "Not here! Nothing on this planet's permanent. It'll vanish as soon as the TARDIS leaves! You have no idea how much of my misspent youth I spent on Marineton II."
"Hah!"
"No, really, I did!" He turns his back and pulls up his shirt so that she can see the expanse of clear skin. "Got my whole back covered with a fire-breathing dragon one time, just for the heck of it. Vanished as soon as the TARDIS took off."
"Quite apart from the whole thing where you regenerate, so what you just did then really doesn't prove a thing, my misspent youth was a long time ago, and who ever said I wanted to revisit it?"
"Oh, come on!" He gives up trying to persuade her and instead grabs her hand, dragging her towards the doors.
The TARDIS considers for a split second before allowing the Doctor to pull the doors open. However the ship can't help wondering just what design Donna will choose, and, more importantly, just how she's going to react when the Doctor finally gets around to pointing out that they are actually on Marineton III.
And that tattoos from here are definitely permanent.
And this is what happened once they got back to the TARDIS...
