Summary: Time is passing slowly for the Doctor.
Notes/Warning: Written for the fifteenth weekly drabble challenge with the prompt ‘watching. A/N:

He’s been in one position for so long as he watches that he groans as he moves to ease his aching muscles. His neck, in particular, is hurting. Still, he has to be ready.

He can feel the heat on his skin, waves of warmth against his coolness.

The light shows the smooth, even curves of the object of his desire. Warm and soft. He can barely wait to get his hands on it.

And then a voice breaks into his reverie.

“Doctor, that cake isn’t going to cook any faster if you sit there staring at it like that!”

A/N: A sequel to Taking Time

It was as soft and delicious as he’d been hoping. Chocolatey and gorgeous. He does love cake.

Almost as much as bananas.

But, as he looks up guiltily into Donna’s eyes, he wonders if he was a bit hasty.

Perhaps he shouldn’t have eaten all of it.

But it was just so good, and he couldn’t help having slice after slice.

She taps her foot impatiently on the floor, waiting for an explanation.

He gives her what he hopes is a placating smile and gestures towards the bench where a bowl sits in lonely grandeur.

“I left you the icing.”
