So I did wake up at 5am, but that means I had about eight hours' sleep and I'm firing on about three-and-a-half cylinders this morning of a full four, so that's pretty good. I have been catching up on my many emails and LJ entries. I've got my phone fixed so I can use it over here. Now I'm planning my day. I expect to visit Westminster Abbey (again), Churchill Museum and Cabinet War Rooms (again), Pollock's Toy Museum and possibly the Britain at War museum. I'm also considering seeing the Henry VIII exhibition, but I'll need to book in advance for that so I can go on Saturday. Has anyone else been and is it work it?

I've been thinking about my flight. I saw a lot more films than I usually do:
Wall-E
The Reader
He's Just Not That Into You
The Uninvited
Bride Wars
Enchanted
Considering I'm not a film buff, that's a very respectable load of films to have watched, but it does suggest that I had almost no sleep at all on the flight, which is sadly accurate.

Again, the food was astonishingly good, but can anyone explain why, as soon as meals or drinks are served, the turbulence immediately begins? So unfair! I did get a bit of a bath from one of my water containers, but luckily I could mop it up before it could soak in.

So we're in the grip of a 'heat wave'. I know, I know. Terrible for the Brits, but it feels like a normal summer day to me. My hotel has provided a fan for my room and, yes, I'm going to carry water today. But I do that anyway. So I'm afraid I shall do a bit more mockery...*g*

At least it was water that spilled and not tea. ~g~

*lol* I did think that, yes. And no stockings this time.

Have heard good things about the Henry VIII exhibition.

Also, am glad you're not bothered by the heat. But please remember this heat will kill people. And some of us will have to stay indoors or risk ending up in A&E because the ozone levels are choking us. Just a thought.

Aw, spoilsport! But yes, I know that's true, although it doesn't happen so much in Australia until we get to the mid-30s.

And thanks, I'll definitely check out the exhibition.

Have fun... I keep meaning to go and see it: will get round to it at some point no doubt =)

Didn't mean to sound snitty, just having my lungs Go Beserk is frustrating when I want to go and play in the pretty sunshine. Mumph.

No worries, I can understand how limited health can be frustrating. Although it's not as bad as you, I have had no voice for five days (I was called Scooby Doo at work on Friday ;-) so I do appreciate a bit of how you're feeling. Hopefully you'll be able to enjoy it for a least a few hours. *huggles you*

Yeah, it can be a bit pants, but I didn't ought to whinge: at least I can still do quite a bit of stuff. Ech, having no voice is hideous... the point where I had no voice for 5 weeks almost drove me to distraction, so I definitely sympathise-empathise with you on voicelessness.

Have a good day =)

Thanks, I did! How was yours?

Didn't do that much with it, but it was fairly-okay. Ech.

What d'you think of the Cabinet War Rooms? I really REALLY like the museum, but think it's all a bit much - should really be split in two to prevent people from ending up Utterly Museumed Out...

Glad to hear it! Hope today is as good/better.

The Churchill museum wasn't there when I was there last so it was interesting to see it, but I got awfully confused by the layout. I prefer a museum like that to be easily and logically chronological, but I found myself wandering between time periods and getting frustrated and annoyed so I headed back to the War Cabinet Rooms, which I love.

I've heard most parts of the country will clear today, so hopefully you'll get some blue skies later.

Re people coping with the weather - you're in London, remember! For a whole week earlier this year news bulletins were dominated by the fact that London had had a bit of snow. When it snows in northern England, everyone just gets on with it :-)!! Same kind of thing with heat, LOL.

Sympathise about the drink. My sister once accidentally spilled Coke (with ice in it) all down me very shortly after take-off on a 6 hour flight. I was not pleased.

Have a great holiday!

Enjoy. And spare a thought for those of us in North Wales, an area so ill-equipped to deal with heat it's unreal. I can't even open my window fully! Still, we're jolly good at dealing with rain, it must be said... Good old Wales.

Anyway, have a lovely time!

Oh, I certainly do! Hopefully it won't stay this hot for that long. *hugs you*

You sit on the Victoria line from one end to the other as we did twice yesterday, and then tell me it's not hot! And that was a fairly empty Sunday train; I'm just so glad I don't have to commute in this weather.

*lol* Well, I mostly avoided the Tube today by walking. It wasn't cool, I'll admit. I'm sure you're glad to hear that they're putting in at least some air con next year! *g*

I thought so too! Crazy!

Here's hoping you'll at least get some time out in the sunshine. Cloudy would be nice, although weather like that at night in Oz means the nights stay very hot.

If you mean the exhibition at the British Library, I've been to it and I thought it was definitely worth the entrance fee. I really enjoyed it, and I have a good bit of knowledge of the period as it was my A-level topic (I often find that museum exhibitions don't really cater for people who already know stuff :)). I also went on a Saturday morning and had no problem getting in without booking in advance, although that was almost a month ago in foul weather so it could be busier by now. :)

Hope you enjoy your trip!

*lol* Tell me about it! And I can't help being mildly amused. I mean, yes, without a/c things like theatres where there's no breeze can get a bit warm, but that's not the end of the world, surely? But you should have heard the complaints! *rolls eyes*
