Sorry, just have to share this. Not sure if it's my ego going mad, but I don't think so...
When I was in Berlin in 2001, I used to frequent the supermarket directly across the road from the student home. There was a young man there of probably about my age. Every time I came to his register, he would blush, give a shy grin but never quite managed to meet my eye. One time, when another person opened a new register, he shot a really resentful look at the woman who did it, and grinned like a maniac when I stayed at his register. I went in with a friend one time and we were at different places in the queue. He didn't react to her in that way.
I just ran across to the supermarket and there he still is. I joined the queue for his register and the speed he was processing goods doubled. He still couldn't meet my eye, but was grinning again, and then, while I packed my good away, he stood up and did stretching excercises without giving me my receipt. I asked for it and he went all the colours of the rainbow while he gave it to me.
Okay, so there might be nothing in it, but I can't help wondering...
