*looks at icon* Well, good and bad actually.

I went to see the lovely lady specialist on Tuesday (I know, I know, I'm slack, I'm sorry), who told me - surprise! - that my gall bladder is still inflamed! As a result of this shock diagnosis (*g*) I am going in on June 1 to have my gall bladder whipped out through small holes in my stomach. (The proper name for the surgery is a cholecystectomy, for those who might be interested. Fortunately this can be done by a laparoscopy rather than having to have a four- or five-inch long scar on the upper part of my tummy.)

In other news, I have a rotten throat and chest cold. This is very unusual for me, as my colds tend to go to my nose and fester there. (Oh, sorry, you're eating? My apologies. *eg*) This one, however, has settled on my chest and is making me cough like a coughing thing. (Brain not able to think of good comparisons.) I am on antibiotics and cold-and-flu tablets and am living in hope that it will soon clear up.

Huggles and sympathy will be most welcome at this point...

Woe and much wailing and gnashing of teeth. Yet another chapter has been written in my 'health' saga. Late on Thursday evening I was doubled up in pain which, when it didn't go away after four hours, sent me to hospital. The diagnosis: gall stones. Frankly, my icon says pretty much everything I could want to.

Results from the doctor: my iron level and my ability to absorb iron is slightly lower than it should be. As a result, I have to take multivitamin tablets with extra iron (not iron tablets!) to boost it. My blood pressure is still too low, but they don't seem to have any idea what has caused that, so they're going to leave it and hope it fixes itself.
