So I have been a very spoiled girl this year. It was a very booky Christmas:
Mark Roseman's The Villa, The Lake, The Meeting, which is about the Wannsee Conference in 1942
Hélène Berr's Journal, which is the life of a young Jewish woman in occupied Paris
Richard J. Evans' The Third Reich at War which is a huuuuge tome about the role the Nazis played in German life before and during the Third Reich
Ernst Schnabel's The Footsteps of Anne Frank which is one of the earliest Frank biographies and is very useful for my thesis
Ross Dobson's Kitchen Seasons about cooking with organic food
The Mythbusters Encyclopedia

Aside from books, I also got:
The Doctor Who Series 4 Complete DVD
The DWM Series 4 Companion
A set of pistachio green saucepans and frypan to replace my motley collection
Skin cream
A beautiful silver bookstand
A tin of German gingerbread

I hope everyone's day was as lovely as mine. A delicious lunch, a very pleasant time with my extended family, and - best of all - no arguments. Not one.

Perfect!

(Oh, and watching the World Latin Dance Championships in the evening...)

I've had a wonderful time, in particular reading the magazine. *pets* And I went and bought a new shiny laptop for myself in the Boxing Day sales, so there's no excuse for letting any story ideas slip away...

YAY SERIES 4!! Me too. Curious - is yours the blue or gold edition? Kim bought mine well before the ABC store released the gold ones and now i'm paranoid that the new version had extras that mine didn't. ;)

*lol* I've had similar concerns. Actually, I got mine through Amazon, so I think it's got a different cover. I do wish it was possible to find out what the gold covered ones have as extras!

Another cover? Mine has a metallic blue slipcover, Doctor & Donna on one side and Davros on the other, then the box inside has got Doctor, Donna and ... someone on one side and Rose, Martha and .... someone else on the other. (memory = shocking. too busy staring at the pretty DonnaDoctor :D)

I think i might go bother my friend's mum if she's working tomorrow - she's in the ABC store upstairs from where i work.
